It's official...

I'm going to Brazil! Just bought my ticket this afternoon. Leaving on the 12th of February for two weeks! Madrid is postponed (good thing my ticket won't be wasted!). So, goal of this vacation: get the tan of a lifetime, eat some amaaaaazing food, and have a few nice drinks out of coconuts :-)

Have you gotten your visa yet? I read on another expat-in-Paris blog recently (who bought tickets to go there) that they've really made it a hassle for Americans to visit since the US started requiring Brazilians to have tourist visas. I want to say the visa now costs like 100€ or something crazy like that.

We'll see! I'm going to get my visa tomorrow. I think for a basic tourist visa, I've seen two things, one that it costs 130 dollars, and another that says it's free... plan to find out tomorrow ...but I'll obviously post to complain about it if they give me any trouble !! :-)

So...not only do you have to pay for the visa (thanks for the heads up...because everything that I saw said it was free!), but the price went up by 30 euros..so, it's 130 euros. In any case, I finally completed my dossier today, and it takes 3 business days, so I am to pick it up next wednesday. Here's to hoping that everything goes okay with it!

lol...I'm hardly stressed about paying 130 euros for a visa (that's valid for unlimited entry for 5 years) to get to go on holiday in brazil for two weeks!! Small price to pay....to escape this miserable winter weather here in Paris..
